ABOUT THE PRESENTATION:
Mr. Tolbert’s presentation will be on the intersection of trust and estates law, probate, oil and gas leasing and title. Focus will be on the basics of estate planning and various oil and gas lease curative issues that a face Land professionals.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Simon Tolbert is the owning attorney of Mountain States Energy Attorneys & Advisors, PLLC d/b/a Tolbert Law Office, PLLC based in Denver, Colorado. His practice focuses on oil and gas title examination, estate planning, probate, employment, and real property litigation. He has written numerous title opinions covering mineral title in Colorado and Wyoming, served as local counsel to alternative energy projects, litigated complex probate cases in state court, and has prepared estate plans for clients with taxable estate assets from $100 thousand up to $5.45 million dollars. Mr. Tolbert has written articles in trade publications on oil and gas title topics including reservations into stranger-to-title and right of first refusal clauses in oil and gas leases. He is currently publishing an academic legal writing on the intersect of oil and gas law and probate law in Colorado. Before practicing as an attorney, Mr. Tolbert work for over six years as an independent petroleum Landman in Texas and Colorado, and served in the Marine Corps Reserve as a Logistics Officer. Mr. Tolbert earned his J.D. from the University of Kansas, and holds a BA from Rhodes College. He is admitted to the bars of Colorado and Wyoming.
